Ruslana Korshunova was born on July 2, 1987, in Almaty, Kazakh SSR. Her father died when she was only five years old, her mother had to take care of Ruslana and her brother by herself. At a very young age, Korshunova started working as a model. She was only fifteen years old when her pictures were taken by a famous magazine at Almaty’s local German language club, which she was then attending.
Her enthralling beauty soon caught the attention of Debbie Jones, the representative of a big modelling agency. 2005 was the year that changed Ruslanas life, with her getting noticed by designers and specialists at New York Fashion Week. She was invited to work with famous brands, and her face was on the front page of fashion prestigious magazine covers like Vogue and Elle. Photographers who worked with the girl claimed that she was flexible and always tried to give her best at everything she did. In front of the camera, she was shy and gracious. “A girl with an innocent look” — that’s what one of the photographers said.
